Title:
RUBBER GASKET AND SUBMERGED CAISSON FOR SUBMERGED TUNNEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0650092
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease displacement of a submerged tunnel rubber gasket in its cross direction by covering the surface of the gasket with a film of resin whose coefficient of friction is smaller than that of rubber, and covering a submerged caisson with a layer of resin, the housing making sliding contact with the film of resin.

CONSTITUTION: A rubber gasket 1 is in the form of a frame with a predetermined area of its center portion A widened, and is interposed between the end faces of a submerged caisson 2 adjoining thereto and the end faces are sealed. Flange portions 12 are projected from both sides of one side face of the main body portion 11 of the rubber gasket 1 and protrusions 13, 14 are formed on both sides of the main body portion 11 and the surface 11a of the main body portion is covered with a film 15 of resin whose coefficient of friction is smaller than that of rubber. Next, the submerged caisson 2 is formed by mounting steel frame bodies 22 to both end portions of an embedded concrete long-size hollow body 21, and compartments 23, 24 are formed on both side portions of the long-size hollow body 21. The surface of the frame body 22 of the submerged caisson 2 is covered with a layer 25 of resin whose coefficient of friction is small. Therefore, the force of friction between the rubber gasket 1 and the submerged caisson 2 is reduced and a good sealing property can be secured.
