Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber-modified polystyrene composition, containing dispersed particles, consisting of a rubber-like elastomer with a specific microstructure and melt viscosity and having a specific particle diameter and containing specific two kinds of additives and having excellent impact and heat resistance and gloss. CONSTITUTION:A rubber-modified polystyrene composition containing (A) 5-12wt.%, preferably 6-11wt.% dispersed particles having a microstructure of 8-15mol% 1,2-vinyl bonds, 25-45mol% 1,4-cis bonds and 30-67mol% 1,4-trans bonds, 20-200cP melt viscosity and 0.5-1.2mum, preferably 0.6-1.1mum average particle diameter, (B) 0.2-2wt.%, preferably 0.3-1.5wt.% zinc salt of a higher fatty acid (e.g., zinc laurate) and (C) 0.01-1wt.%, preferably 0.05-0.9wt.% ester of sorbitan with a 12-20C higher fatty acid.
