Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a rubber-modified thermoplastic resin suitable for use as a blending resin for imparting mechanical strengths including excellent tensile strength and bending strength and impact resistance to other resin; and to obtain a composition comprising the rubber-modified and other thermoplastic resins.
CONSTITUTION: This resin is obtained by polymerizing an aromatic vinyl compound (b) with a vinyl cyanide compound (c) in the presence of a rubbery polymer (a). The resin has a content of the ingredient (a) of 50-85wt.%, a content of units derived from the ingredient (b) of 5-48wt.%, and a content of units derived from the ingredient (c) of 2-45wt.%. It is characterized in that the storage modulus of its acetone-insoluble components is 5×107-1×109Pa and the grafting percentage is 5wt.% or higher.
