Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the manufacture of an insulation core easier by providing both sides of a substrate cloth made of fibers with a semiconductive elastic material layers.

CONSTITUTION: A semiconductive elastic material 3 is painted or applied on both sides of a substrate cloth 2 made of fibers to make a semiconductive cushion tape 1. A rubber, plastic insulation power cable having a metallic sheath wrapped with layers of the cushion tape 1 is made. This cable is formed with a conductor 11 such as a circular cross-sectional compressed conductor or divided circular cross-sectional compressed conductor, an inner semiconductive layer 12, an insulation layer 13 of a material such as polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene or synthetic rubber, and an outer semiconductive layer 14 having a smooth external surface all arranged in order through an extrusion process or the like. Over an insulation core A is a wrapped layer 15 of the semiconductive cushion tape 1 over which is a shield layer 16 of a wound layer of a material such as a copper wire-woven semiconductive tape or of a combination of a metallic tape winding, soft copper wire and the semiconductive tape winding layers over which is arranged, with a gap 17 of about 1mm, a metallic sheath 18 of a material such as Al or stainless steel over which is arranged a corrosion prevention layer 19 of a material such as polyvinyl chloride.
