Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a rubber or plastic mixture which is based on a crosslinked and reinforced rubber or plastic, contains a specified amt. of a specific silyl- substd. cyclopentadiene, has improved tear resistance, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and compression set, and is useful for cable coverings, hoses, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This mixture is based on a rubber or plastic crosslinked with a peroxide and reinforced with a silicate filler and contains, based on the silicate filler, 0.2-10 pts. silyl-substd. cyclopentadiene of formula I [wherein A is a group of formula II (wherein R and R' are each 1-6C alkyl, 5-6C cycloalkyl, benzyl or phenyl; n is 1-3; m is 0 or 1; the total number of carbon atoms of alkoxy and aryloxy groups is not higher than 36; and r is 0 or 1); and p is 2].
