This toothed belt 1 has a belt body 10 which includes a plurality of teeth 2 arranged at predetermined intervals in the belt longitudinal direction and a back part 4 in which a core wire 3 is embedded and which uses rubber as a base material, and the tooth cloth 5 for covering the surface of the plurality of the teeth 2. The tooth cloth 5 has a multiple weave structure in which warps 6 and at least two types of wefts 7 are woven. The warp 6 includes polyamide fiber, and the weft located on the surface side of the tooth cloth of the two types of weft 7 includes the fluorine based fiber. Moreover, low melting point fibers, which soften or melt at a vulcanization temperature for the belt body 10, are arranged around the fluorine based fiber.
