Abstract:
To provide a rubbing cloth with an excellent orientation regulating ability for producing liquid crystal panels, which can evenly form an oriented film by increasing a pile density in a weft direction.
In a method for manufacturing a rubbing cloth for producing liquid crystal panels, which comprises a velvet fabric having a foundation fabric texture consisting of weft and warp and a pile yarn woven into the foundation fabric texture in a warp direction, a heat-shrinkable yarn is woven as the weft, and a density of the warp and a density of the pile yarn in a weft direction are increased by heat shrinkage of the weft due to a heat treatment after weaving.
