PURPOSE: To provide the subject device designed to improve both tea quality and machine efficiency through making needlelike straight leaf form unique to Japanese steeped green tea by increasing the resistance means of a rubbing cloth or furnishing the rubbing cloth with such resistance means.
CONSTITUTION: In a final tea roller equipped with an arc-shaped rubbing panel 1 attached to the center of a rubbing kettle, a rubbing means 4 making longitudinally reciprocating swinging motions correspondingly to this panel situated below, and a set of leaf dredging means 17 onto both the sides of this means 4, the rubbing device of the present invention is so designed as to provide unevennesses on the cloth of the rubbing means 4 or attach a resistance means onto the cloth.
