The slave vehicle 20 running parallel to the master vehicle 10 has a parallel running control ECU (Electronic Control Unit) 21. On a rectilinear path, the parallel running control ECU 21 steers and controls the slave vehicle 20 according to steering information, throttle information, and braking information sent from the master vehicle 10. On a curvilinear path, the parallel running control ECU 21 sets a target value of lateral inter-vehicle distance between it and the master vehicle 10 to be long, and performs the steering and controlling so that the lateral inter-vehicle distance becomes long.
