Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel control unit enabling further reduction in a running cost of an entire hybrid vehicle.SOLUTION: A travel control unit selects a travel mode of a hybrid vehicle including a battery 8 that is chargeable, an MG6 that generates a travel driving force with the power of the battery 8, and an engine 5 that generates the travel driving force. The travel control unit includes a travel route designation block 52 that designates a travel route according to a destination of the hybrid vehicle. The travel control unit includes a drive switching block 57 that selects either an EV mode or HV mode for each of plural zones on the travel route except one or more zones immediately preceding the destination.
