PURPOSE: To dispense with a welding machine and a looper device and shorten the whole facility length by processing a belt-shaped object for each coil without connecting the rear end of the running belt-shaped object and the tip of the succeeding belt-shaped object.

CONSTITUTION: When a running bed 16 is run from the upstream end to the downstream end along a guide rail 13 by the action of a running drive mechanism while the tip of a belt-shaped object 11 is held by a gripper 20 by the action of a switching drive mechanism 36, the belt-shaped object 1 is fed into a processing device. When the running bed 16 is sent to the downstream end of the guide rail 13, the gripper 20 releases the belt-shaped object 11 via the switching drive mechanism 36, the running bed 16 is moved on an a refuge track by the action of the running drive mechanism and returned to the upstream end of the guide rail 13, the running bed 16 is again run along the guide 13 while the gripper 20 holds the rear end of the belt-shaped object 11 and the tip of the succeeding belt-shaped object via the action of the switching drive mechanism 36, and the succeeding belt-shaped object is fed into the processing device.
