PURPOSE: To sharply cut a film without an impact by rotating an electric heating plate to contact a straight-running film surface in the same direction as the latter and cut it with heat and at the same time, adhering a new and an old film with the help of a press roll for adhesion.

CONSTITUTION: Right before completion of feeding a film roll on a feeder frame 4, a feeder frame 5 for a new film roll is caused to turn beforehand to actuate a cylinder 7 and push out a piston rod 22. This operation results in the rotation of an installation arm 8 and subsequent rotation of a heating wire 16 in a left upper direction and finally, an instantaneous cutting with heat through contact with a running film roll 3 from underneath. At that time, a press roll 6 is caused to rise simultaneously and to tightly contact with the feeder frame 5 for a new film roll so that the new and old film rolls may be adhered together with a both side adhesive tape and a film may run. The heating wire 16 is turned in the same direction with film 3 from A point for ordinary operation to B point for cutting with heat and the film is cut with heat at B point. For this reason, it is possible to cut a film instantaneously and sharply without giving any impact to a film roll.
