To provide a running location device for a loading/unloading device capable of running it properly and quickly to the intra-ship bay position where objects to be handled exist and managing quickly with changing position of the ship depending upon the water level, tide flow, etc.
The running location device of the loading/unloading device including a gantry crane 10 is equipped with a portable GPS sensor 32 to sense the position of a bay 21 in the extending direction of a running rail 3, a stationary type GPS sensor 31 to sense the position of the gantry crane 10 in the extending direction of the running rail 3, and a computation device 35 to decide the target position for running of the gantry crane 10 in the extending direction of the running rail 3 on the basis of the sensing values given by the sensors 31 and 32.
