Title:
RUNNING METER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54117231
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a running meter which can serve as a supplementary sporting device for the development of physical strength and physical as well as mental health by means of a step sensor for detecting the movement of a weight.

CONSTITUTION: A weight 11 made of iron, plastic or the like is fixed to a flat spring 12 so that a vibration system composed of the weight 11 and the spring 12 moves up and down as shown by the arrow 14 when the users run or exercise. The weight 11 is so arranged as to hit a piezo-electric element 13 when moving down. The piezo-electric element 13 generates a signal voltage when hitted by the weight 11. The signal detected by a step number sensor 22 is fed to a display 30 through a waveform shaping circuit 26, a step number counter 27 and a decoder 29, thus displaying the total number of steps.
