To provide a method for preventing a cutting surface before polishing from being curved by the heat when cutting a metal workpiece and polishing its cutting surface.
A cutting circular saw forms a cut 72 in the workpiece W, so that residual workpieces Wa in the both sides of the cut 72 and a cut piece Wb are connected via a connecting part Wc. Then, a finishing circular saw cuts the connecting part Wc to cut off the cutting piece Wb from the residual workpiece Wa and at the same time polishes cutting surfaces WaS and WbS. When cutting it by the cutting circular saw 20, the cutting piece Wb is connected to the residual workpiece Wa by the connecting part Wc to be prevented from deformed by frictional heat and the cutting surfaces WaS and WbS retain their planar states. The cutting surfaces WaS and WbS are thus favorably polished.
