To provide a running state recording device capable of recording a vehicular behavior in detail at the occurrence of an accident for reproducing a state of occurrence of the accident to analyze a cause of the accident on the basis of the reproduced data for contributing to prevention of reoccurrence of such an accident and a running control system using the device.
A forward/front sideward monitoring device 19, a backward/rear sideward monitoring device 21, a GPS 23, a gyro 25, a handle steering angle sensor 27, a wheel rotation speed sensor 29, a braking pressure sensor 31 and an ABS device 33 are loaded on a vehicle 11 and running state information obtained by them is connected with a danger detecting means 43 and a drive recorder 13 via an inside LAN 17. The drive recorder 13 acts normally like an ordinary tachograph to record a running speed of the vehicle 11 at a specified time interval. If the danger detecting means 43 detects a dangerous behavior of the vehicle 11, the drive recorder 13 is changed into a second recording mode and many kinds of data are recorded in a recording means 15 at a short- period sampling interval.
