PURPOSE: To obtain the running toy by which a player can enjoy such a sense as an automobile is driven by himself by constituting it so that a sel sound and an engine sound are generated at the time of start, and at the time of running 1 etc., respectively.

CONSTITUTION: When a start sound/engine sound switching mechanism 500 operates and a large diameter gear 301 is engaged to a gear 204, a start sound generating mechanism 300 generates a start sound being similar to a sel sound by rubbing of a gear 302 which follows a rotation of a small diameter gear 302 and a soundins tongue 303. When a shaft 209 of a power transfer mechanism 200 rotates in a turn-on position, an engine sound generating mechanism 400 vibrates a vibrating piece 402c in connection with a rotation of an impeller 401, hits a rubber cap by its vibration and generates an engine sound. A start sound/engine sound switching mechanism 500 connects the power transfer mechanism 200 connected to the engine sound generating mechanism 400 in the beginning by action of a spring, to the start sound generating mechanism only at the time of a start position.
