PURPOSE: To feed continuously a strip plate to a strip plate work line by equip ping the traveling truck to travel at the speed of a work line together with the rear end of preceding strip plate and by performing a butt welding of the rear end of the preceding plate and the tip of succeeding plate on the traveling truck thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A traveling truck 1 travels with putting the wheel 4 on the rail 3 laid along the feeding line L of a strip plate W. When the balance of the strip plate on the feeding line is reduced, the state thereof is processed by a signal and the truck 1 is ready for ahead. The traveling truck 1 clamps the preceding plate by the clamp 13 of the front side with traveling at the same speed with the preceding plate. When the tip of the succeeding plate fed out of a pinch roll reaches in the traveling truck 1 and abuts the rear end of the preceding plate, it is clamped by the clamp 13 of the rear side and welded by a welder 20 after performing a centering by a side guide 11. With this mecha nism an accumulator is disused and a space saving and energy saving can be achieved.
