To surely weave a rush stem sheet (used as a surface for TATAMI mat) in the manner of the cord fabric formation, as plural rash stems are avoided from being simultaneously stitched, by putting rush stems in order and receiving them in the gap narrowed in a V shape with the actions of a press lever, an elastic lever and an other side press lever that are arranged between the narrowing gap between the guide plate opposing to each other in a V-shape.
In the rush stem separator M attached to a rush-weaving machine, rush stems are contained in the gap narrowed in a V shape that is formed with guide plates 3, 3' and their base ends are put in order with cooperation of a press lever m1 and an elastic lever m2 both of which are arranged along the gap narrowed in a V-shape and of an opposite press lever m3 that is made vibratile and arranged to the other side opposing to the press lever m1. Thus, the rush stems C pass from the rush stem trough through between the guides 3, 3' and are put in order as they are vibrated at their base part and contained in between the guides 3, 3' so that they may be not entangled and disturbed and surely sent one by one to the rush-weaving machine by the work of stitching needles.
