Abstract:
PURPOSE: To develop a pollution-free white rust preventing pigment provided with excellent rust preventing property by using an organic zinc phosphonate having chelating ability as a main component.
CONSTITUTION: The white rust preventing pigment is produced by allowing a zinc oxide powder to make react with an organic phosphonic acid compound having chelating ability such as aminoalkylene phosphonic acid by dry or wet method to deposit the organic zinc phosphonate having chelating ability to cover the surface of the zinc oxide powder. Or, a phosphate based or phosphite based white rust preventing pigment such as zinc phosphate, zinc calcium phosphate, zinc phosphite, zinc calcium phosphite is mixed with the white rust preventing pigment. The white rust preventing pigment with no toxicity in contrast with that exhibited in the conventional lead salt series or chromate series is obtained.
