Abstract:
To obtain such a rust preventive and a rust preventing method that even when a material is left for several days after rust preventing treatment, no secondary rust generates and that application of an oil is not necessary.
This rust preventive essentially consists of phosphoric acid to which at least an org. acid and a surfactant are compounded. The rust preventing method includes a process to apply the rust preventive above described on a metal material having rust on its surface to form an iron (II) phosphate coating film or a process to convert the iron (II) phosphate into iron nitrite.
