PURPOSE:To obtain the titled rust preventive steel sheet having excellent workability and electrodepositing property by respectively specifying the mean particle diameter and the content in a film of electrically conductive powder to be dispersed in the resinous film contg. the conductive powder and formed on a steel sheet of a plated steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:The titled rust preventive steel sheet 7 is obtained by forming a resinous film 10 contg. electrically conductive powder 9 having relatively large particle diameter on a steel sheet (or a plated steel sheet) 8. When the steel sheet 7 is electrodeposited, the conductivity of the film 10 must be secured necessarily and sufficiently to improve the efficiency of the electrodeposition. In this invention, the conditions to be satisfied by the powder 9 are specified in the equation to secure the conductivity by the powder 9 and the powder having particle diameter corresponding to 60-250% of the mean thickness of the film 10 is incorporated into the film 10 to the extent of >=3wt%. Besides, a chromate layer 11 contg. a Cr compd. can be formed, as required, between the steel sheet 8 and the film 10. The rust preventive steel sheet 7 having the above-mentioned characteristics can be obtained by this invention.
