Abstract:

To provide a method where, from a ruthenium-containing material including impurities such as silicon dioxide, lead silicate and aluminum oxide at high concentrations, the impurities are removed, and ruthenium is concentrated.

In the method for concentrating ruthenium, from a ruthenium-containing material including at least either impurities of a silicon compound and an aluminum compound, the impurities are removed so as to concentrate ruthenium. The method comprises: a low temperature alkali melting step where the ruthenium-containing material is heated in the temperature range of 220 to 400°C together with alkali metal hydroxide so as to obtain a mixed body of an alkali melting liquid and a ruthenium-containing solid matter; a wet type leaching step where the mixed body is cooled so as to solidify the alkali melting liquid, water is added thereto, leaching is performed, and thereafter, solid-liquid separation is performed so as to obtain ruthenium-concentrated residue; and an acid leaching step where the ruthenium-concentrated residue is acid-leached, and thereafter, solid-liquid separation is performed so as to obtain ruthenium-reconcentrated residue.
