Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance productivity of cyclohexylamine or the like and to prolong the life of a catalyst by depositing specific compsn. ratios of Ru, Pd and Pt on an Al2O3 or Al spinel carrier treated with Cr and Mn, thereby forming the Ru catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: Compds. of Cr and Mn are applied on the carrier consisting of Al2O3 or aluminum spinel and is treated and, thereafter, the carrier is treated at 200 to 450°C. A noble metal and more preferably a basic alkali metal compd. are then applied and deposited to and on the carrier. The carrier is subsequently dried at 90 to 130°C, by which the Ru catalyst is formed. In such a case, the total deposition weight of the noble metal is specified to 0.05 to 5 wt.% and the compounding ratio is specified to 1:9 to 9:1 Ru:Pd, Ru:Pt or Ru:Pd/Pt. Aniline is hydrogenated under pressurization at 80 to 240°C in the presence of the Ru catalyst, by which cyclohexylamine and its mixture with dicyclohexylamine are obtd.
