Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saddle for a bicycle enabling a rider to safely put both feet on the ground, when the bicycle is stopped.
SOLUTION: The saddle comprises a fixing member 1 having a bottom face provided with a connecting fitting 3 fixed to a seat post 3a of a bicycle and a seat member 2 which a rider sits astride. Energization is always carried out so that, during running, the horizontal state of the seat member is held, and, during stopping, the whole seat member is inclined forward and downward, or the front part of the seat member is bent forward or moved backward, whereby the buttocks losing support descend so that both feet are put on the ground, and the above displacement is restored to the original saddle state for running.
