PURPOSE: To prevent surely a sawed material from jumping out backward by providing a protector which freely stands up and falls down to the forward side and the standing angle of which is provided by means of a stopper.

CONSTITUTION: A safety apparatus provides a protector 11 and a stopper 12a and the protector 11 provides a plurality of nail plates 11b and 11b fixed on the central shaft 11a. When a sawed material W is forwarded on a transferring face R of a feeding apparatus and the front end Wa is brought into contact with rear faces of front end faces of the nail plates 11b and 11b, the nail plates 11b and 11b are fallen down forward and are retreated from the transferring face R and the sawed material W passes through above the nail plates 11b and 11b. When the rear end Wb of the sawed material W finishes to pass through above the nail plates 11b and 11b, the nail plates 11b and 11b stand up by their own weight and return to their standing-up postures provided by means of the stopper 12a. If the sawed material W tends to fly out backward thereafter, the nail plates 11b and 11b prevent effectively the sawed material from flying out.
