To provide a safety belt which has excellent shock absorbing performance and can be easily manufactured.
This safety belt comprises a trunk belt to be wound around a human body, a hook, and a connection belt 7 to connect the trunk belt and the hook. The connection belt 7 comprises a surface layer 25, rear layer 27, main core yarn 29, and twining yarn 31. The surface layer 25 and the rear layer 27 are overlapped sandwiching the main core yarn 29 and connected by the twining yarn 31. The surface layer 25 and the rear layer 27 have twilled structures in which the ground yarn 33 and the sub-core yarn 35 and the weft 37 are weaved. The ratio (Sm/Sc) of elongation at break Sm (%) of the ground yarn 33 against elongation at break Sc(%) of the core yarn 29, 35 is not lower than 1.05. During the connection belt 7 is stretched to 25%, at least a part of the core yarn 29, 35 is broken, but the ground yarn 33 is not broken.
