Title:
SAFETY BRAKE OF ELEVATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11217167
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a safety brake of an elevator, for stopping an elevator car.

A safety brake of an elevator, for stopping an elevator car by making use of frictional force is formed of a guide 18 having an inclined supporting surface 24, and a brake shoe 26 having a base part provided with an inclined surface 28 and a rail contact surface 30. The guide surface 28 of the brake shoe 26 is brought into direct and slide-contact with the supporting surface 24. A material having the low coefficient of friction is partially provided on either surface so that the coefficient of friction between the guide surface 28 and the supporting surface 24 may be 0.1 or less. In this case, a roller cage assembly can be removed from a brake, and braking force can be efficiently distributed.
