Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002283134
Kind Code:

Abstract:

To obtain a safety cover, which is almost no more existing, for protecting a worker and a person around the mover from cut chips or the like generated at a cutting time and in the case of coming off in emergency of a blade of a chip saw from a circular saw main unit, in a hand-held cutter.

An operating cover 23 is pressed to an angle A, as the chip saw 5 cuts in the angle A, the operating cover 23 is turned further in the clockwise direction, and an exposed amount from an opening 31 of the chip saw 5 is enlarged. By thus increasing the exposed amount from the opening 31 of the chip saw 5 in proportion to a cut-in amount relative to the angle A, in a process cutting off the angle A, always the chip saw 5 is exposed from the opening 31 by only the necessary amount of a minimum limit. By constituting the operating cover 23 by a transparent synthetic resin, in the case of cutting off the angle A, the chip saw 5 can be seen through.
