PURPOSE: To provide a safety device for an anesthesia system which can enhance safety and which can monitor anesthetic vaporization.
CONSTITUTION: Establishment means 58, 60, 62 send an actuation signals from OFF to an actuation position and a controller 56 is connected to the establishment means 58, 60, 62, which enable the controller 56 to detect the time that either one of the establishment means 58, 60, 62 is moved from an OFF position to the actuation position based on the actuation signal. Further, based on the detection, the controller 56 generates controlling signals, according to which respective check valves 24, 26, 28 of the other of at least two anesthetic vaporizers 4, 6, 8 can be closed. Thus, even when more than one of the establishment means of the other of at least two anesthetic vaporizers of 4, 6, 8 are actuated, anesthetic supply into the breathing circuit 10 can be prevented.
