Title:
SAFETY DEVICE FOR CEILING FAN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05157092
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a safety device for a ceiling fan, capable of preventing a main body from falling down and safely shutting off a cable without exposure of an electrification portion when a pipe is broken due to abrasion after a long-term use of the ceiling fan.

CONSTITUTION: A column pipe 1 of a ceiling fan is connected to a shaft 2a of a main body motor via a wire 8. A female connector 9a is attached to the end of a power source cord 5. A male connector 9b is fixed to the end of a motor lead wire 7. The female connector 9a is secured to a fixed table 10 disposed in the pipe 1, thus connecting the male and female connectors to each other. Consequently, the motor 2 can be prevented from falling down by the wire 8 in the case where the pipe 1 is broken. Additionally, separation of the male connector 9b according to the movement of the motor 2 can shut off a cable, thus preventing a secondary accident such as an electrical shock.
