PURPOSE: To prevent a parallel arm from breaking due to collision of a carrier or the like against a safety shoe, by providing a flexible and elastic material in the middle of a parallel arm, in an attached condition of the safety shoe through the parallel arm, so as to project from the edge of elevator door.

CONSTITUTION: A connector insertion groove 11a and two bolt holes 11b are provided in the upper arm 11 connected to a safety shoe 5 and a connector insertion groove 12a and two bolt holes 12b are provided in the lower arm 12 connected to the axis 4 of an attaching plate 2. The inlaying parts 13a formed at both ends of the arm connector 13 as a flexible and elastic material are inserted in the respective connector insertion grooves 11a, 12a to connect the upper and lower arms 11, 12. In this parallel arm, when a side force acts theron, the arms are rotated until a specified value but if the force exceeds the value, the arm connector 13 is bent as bow-shaped and the force acting on the upper arm is absorbed and hence, the parallel arm can be prevented from breaking.
