PURPOSE: To improve the detecting precision of a temp. over-rising preventing element and to prevent the occurrence of the fume and ignition of a fixing device by allowing the temp. over-rising preventing element to contact with the roller during the stopping of the fixing roller, and removing the element from the roller during the rotation of the roller.
CONSTITUTION: A movement control mechanism which allows one or plural temp. over-rising preventing elements 12 to be brought into contact with the fixing roller 1 when it is stopped, and removes the temp. over-rising preventing elements 12 from the fixing roller 1 when it is rotated, on the fixing part of this image forming device, is provided. On the other hand, when the energizing circuit of a heater 3 is directly turned on/off by the temp. over-rising preventing element 12, the circuit is indirectly turned on/off by a different temp. over-rising preventing element, for safety measures with respect to the fault of the system of the circuit, etc. Thus, a rising temp. can be set at fume and ignition points or below, when the fixing part has an abnormal temp., and safety is enhanced.
