PURPOSE: To provide a safety device for preventing an electron beam linear acceleration irradiation device and a rotary chair, a patient seated thereon or an operator of the rotary chair in a surgical treatment system of sitting position irradiation from collision or contact with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A sensor support ring 11 is mounted on the peripheral edge of an electron beam irradiation section of an electron beam linear acceleration irradiation device. On the sensor support ring 11 are mounted a fixing device 12 capable of fixedly changing the directions of X, Y and Z axes of the support ring and at least two sensor support levers 14, 15. The sensors are mounted respectively on the sensor support levers 14, 15 to be directed in the different directions by the fixing device 12. A safety device 16 is operated to stop the rotation of the electron beam linear acceleration irradiation device according to at least one output of the sensors. Also, the two sensor support levers 14, 15 are directed at a right angle and opposite direction to each other.
