To reduce the maintenance and management work of a safety device that protects communication equipment or the like from a high-voltage current of a lightning surge or the like.
The safety device is composed of an arrester spring AD and a surge absorber S arranged with an automatically resettable surge absorbing circuit. The surge absorber is moved up or down with respect to the arrester spring so as to mount the surge absorber to the arrester spring or to pull it out from the arrester spring. By such a configuration, the surge absorber is easily and quickly mounted to/removed from the arrester spring. Consequently, it reduces maintenance and management work of the safety device while reducing the maintenance and management time of the safety device.
