Title:
SAFETY FASTENER FOR SKI
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0231772
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce a longitudinal dimension, to protect a tightness adjustment screw and to firmly enclose an energy supply mechanism against snow and dust by correlative adjustment with the longitudinal location of the tightness adjustment nut and with the rate of pre-stress of the compression spring. CONSTITUTION: An adjustment screw 15 screwed to integrally connect with an adjustment nut pushes the adjustment nut 13 rearward and is energized rearward by action of a compression spring 9 to push a tie rod 11 forward. Consequently, the head part 15a of the screw 15 is permanently pushed against the front face of a vertical wall 18 to securely retain the nut 12 at a prescribed position. The tightness of the binding can be changed by only turning the adjustment screw in one direction or the other direction. Thus, the adjustment nut is relatively moved to the axis direction and, consequently, the longitudinal position of the bottom part of a hollow part constituting the fixed support face for the compression spring 9 is moved. Thus, the compression ratio of the spring 9 can be arbitrarily adjusted to change the releasing threshold value of the binding.
