To provide a safety management method for an automation line capable of enhancing the operation rate of facility, relieving the impact to products and various apparatus owing to emergency stop, reducing a quality change caused by an interruption during the operation, or the like, while a safety to the same degree as conventional is well secured.
A safety fence 2 having a door 3 is installed in such a fashion as surrounding a bunch of stages of the automation line 1, each door 3 of the safety fence 2 being fitted with a door safety device 4, and an inter-STG safety device 5 is installed between adjoining stages. When any of the door safety devices 4 is actuated during the operation, the emergency stopping process is executed for shutting off the power to the robot etc. of the applicable stage. At the same time, the temporary stopping process for robots etc. is executed at the adjoining stages on both sides. When any of the inter-STG safety devices 5 is actuated, emergency stopping process is executed for shutting off the power to the robots etc. of the stages on both sides of the inter-STG safety device 5.
