To provide a safety monitoring device which eliminates drawbacks in a conventional safety monitoring device such as difficulty in confirming safety and inability to detect abnormality in health condition of a subject under the circumstances without accompanying a large body motion like a state of watching TV for a long time, etc.
This safety monitoring device is provided with a microwave Doppler sensor, so that it can calculate the body motion count and respiratory rate of a subject by using a microwave Doppler shift signal output by the microwave Doppler sensor, and then it can monitor the safety of the subject based upon a safety indicator pattern which is a combination of these two factors. Thus, it enables the confirmation of the safety under the circumstances without accompanying the large body motion while enabling detection of the subject's condition.
