PURPOSE: To prevent a finger from being hurt even when it is pinched by mistake by providing an overload avoiding mechanism at one portion of a pair of scissors, and preventing the further load from being applied to the point of application via the action of the overload avoiding mechanism when an overload of the load capable of cutting an object or above is applied to the point of application.

CONSTITUTION: An overload avoiding mechanism 10 is provided at least at one of the portions 2-5 of a pair of scissors 1. The overload avoiding mechanism 10 is formed into a link shape centering on a connecting pin 9. When an overload is applied, a projection is removed from a groove and a hole, and the overload avoiding mechanism 10 is bent so that no further load is applied. When a finger of a child is pinched by mistake, the finger is prevented from being hurt or cut, and the scissors 1 can be given to the child without anxiety.
