Title:
SAFETY SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005325537
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a safety sensor for highly accurately confirming that a person or the other object do not exist in an inlet to a movable area of machines such as an automatic door or in its front predetermined detecting area.

This safety sensor 20 is arranged in a part of a horizontal frame 14 existing in an upper part of an entrance 16 of an automatic rotary door 10, and has a light wave range finder 21 and a reference surface 22. The light wave range finder 21 registers a distance L up to the reference surface 22 as an initial measured value by measuring from a phase difference between the projection light and the reflected light. The distance measured value measured by detecting a detecting area N by the light wave range finder 21, is compared with the registered initial measured value, and when there is no difference between both, safety operation of the automatic rotary door 10 is performed by confirming that the person or the other object do not exist in the detecting area N.
