To provide a safety switch, capable of surely detecting retreat of an actuator from the switch body, even if the actuator is forced to retreat from the switch body with the safety switch being equipped with a locking mechanism in a locked state.
Even if a driving cam 15 goes into enabled state of rotation, since an actuator 3 is forcefully pulled off with rotation of the driving cam 15 in a locked state with at least either a notched part 15b or a lock body 80 broken, a cam curved part 15c of the driving cam 15 and an operating rod 21 will remain in a normal state, without being damaged. Accordingly, if the driving cam 15 rotates counterclockwise, normally closed contacts 39, 40 of a contact part 70 goes back to normally to an open state; so that even if the actuator 3 is made to retreat from the switch body 1 with a force larger than a breaking strength of the safety switch, retreating of the actuator 3 from the switch body 1 can be detected surely.
