To provide a compact safety switch by miniaturizing a configuration of a drive part driving a locking body.
In this safety switch, a drive cam 15 can be switched between a rotation locked condition and a rotation unlocked condition when an end part 80a of the locking body 80 is engaged/released with/from a locking part 15b formed on the outer circumferential face of the drive cam 15, so that displacement of the locking body 80 between the locked position and the unlocked position is reduced greatly. A configuration of a drive part 81 is thereby miniaturized, and consequently, the safety switch is reduced in size. The locking body 80 moves substantially orthogonally to the rotation axis 13 of the drive cam 15 to be engaged with the locking part 15b, electromagnetic attraction force due to application of power to a hinge-shaped electromagnet 81e is transmitted to the locking body 80 while its operating direction is deflected by a working body 81b. The thickness and size of the safety switch is thereby reduced in comparison with a plunger-shaped electromagnet and the like using electromagnetic attraction force linearly.
