To provide a sagger for firing a ceramic, with which the firing failure or the dispersion in characteristics of a ceramic formed body can be suppressed and the yield of the ceramic formed body can be improved, and to provide a method for firing the ceramic formed body.
The sagger has a rectangular frame part 11 and no bottom part. The frame part 11 has mutually opposing two first parts 11a, 11b and mutually opposing two second parts 11c, 11d. The frame part 11 has first upper surfaces 30 situated in four corners thereof, second upper surfaces 32 situated in respective first parts 11a, 11b, third upper surfaces 34 situated in respective second parts 11c, 11d, and a lower surface 36. A plurality of perforated holes 50a, 50b are formed in respective first parts 11a, 11b. Each of perforated holes 50a, 50b communicates with the inside and the outside of the frame part 11. Each of the perforated holes 50a is formed in the vicinity of the corner of the frame part 11, and each of the perforated holes 50b is situated in the lower part of a projected part 42.
