PURPOSE: To provide a sailcloth core body constituting the center member of a wide width belt capable of restraining the belt from the contraction accompanying the tension in the longitudinal circumferential direction of the belt and driven from the tension in the width direction of the belt in the travelling of the wide width belt having the extremely thin thickness and peculiar shape.
CONSTITUTION: A sailcloth core body 1 forming the main constituent of a wide width belt is woven into a wide width tubular form which is seamless both in the circumferential direction and width direction by longitudinal cords 2 in the circumferential direction and lateral cords 3 in the width direction. The condition of the tubular sailcloth elongated in the circumferential direction is fixed to a predetermined elongated condition by the hardening process of thermoplastic resin 4 impregnated in the sailcloth.
