PURPOSE: To obtain an oral absorbable compound useful for therapy of thrombosis and atherosclerosis by passing an aqueous solution of alkaline(earth) salt of glycosaminoglycan through a specific column of chromatography to exude it, the effluent of which is then poured directly onto an alcoholic solution of amino acid ester.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of alkaline(earth) salt of glycosaminoglycan is passed through a column of chromatography containing cationic resin activated to a H+ form to exude it. Then, the effluent containing the resultant glycosaminoglycan in acidic form is poured directly into an alcoholic solution of amino acid ester shown by formula I to obtain a hydroalcoholic solution, from which alcohol solvent is removed by vaporization under vacuum and successively dryed to obtain a salt of the glycosaminoglycan and amino acid ester shown by formula II. Wherein, R1 is H or 1-6C alkyl; R2 is 1-12C alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or arylalkyl.
