Abstract:
To provide a sample cooling method and a cooling tool by which a biological sample can be cooled while preventing contamination of the biological sample.SOLUTION: A cooling tool includes a block 10 with a recess C for fitting a container 62 that houses a biological sample 60 therein. The block 10 is composed of metal or a material containing metal. A sample cooling method for cooling the biological sample 60 uses the cooling tool 1A and includes the following steps: a block cooling step of cooling the block 10 to a temperature of -60°C or below; and a sample housing step of fitting the container 62 for housing the biological sample 60 into the recess C of the block 10 cooled to the temperature of -60°C or below, and putting the biological sample 60 in an internal space of the recess C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
