Abstract:
To provide a sample separation method and a device for sample separation where a sample liquid can move in a sample liquid moving passage without using pressing force.SOLUTION: In a sample separation method and a device for sample separation: a sample liquid moving passage 3 is formed on a substrate of the device for sample separation; a pillar region 4 is disposed at a part of the sample liquid moving passage; a sample liquid moving passage part and a pillar surface are made of a material negatively charged when flowing a sample liquid; the combination of the material and the salt concentration of the sample liquid is selected so that moving force caused by an electroosmotic flow is larger than the electrophoretic force of a sample negatively charged; power to move the sample liquid by the electroosmotic flow generated at a boundary surface between the sample liquid moving passage and the sample liquid can be applied when a voltage is applied to an electrode in a state that the pillar region positions between at least a pair of electrodes 8a, 8b; and as a result, the sample can be continuously separated since the electroosmotic flow is larger than the electrophoretic force on the sample negatively charged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
