To provide a sampler for a soil sample capable of quickly and smoothly sampling the soil sample in a predetermined depth from a pit with a small diameter formed in the ground without being required for much time and effort.
The sampler sampling the soil sample in the predetermined depth from the pit 11 with the small diameter formed in the ground comprises a sampling section 14 constituted by dividing a cylindrical body 15 into two parts of an upper body 17 and a lower body 18 by a dividing plane 16 to connect 19 them to each other with a hinge, a first PC steel wire 12 connected to the upper body 17 and a second PC steel wire 13 connected to the lower body 18 inserted inside of the sampling section 14. The sampling section 14 is inserted into a predetermined depth in a state to extend the PC steel wires 12 and 13 on the ground, and earth and sand in a hole wall 11a are excavated while opening and closing the dividing plane 16 by rotating the lower body 18 by vertically making relative displacement of the second PC steel wire 13 to the first PC steel wire 12 with an operation from the ground to gather the soil sample to the sampling section 14.
