PURPOSE: To enable the sampling of intermittently conveyed article by the required amount, by a method wherein a timer is driven with conveyed article existing at the sampling position while it is stopped with none and a sampling machine is actuated upon the expiration of the set time thereof.

CONSTITUTION: For example, when the total weight is conveyed in five batches with the sampling frequency at three while the conveying length per batch is represented by P, the conveying length corresponding to the sampling interval is given by 5P/4=T. As a switch detects conveyed article (a), a timer starts counting time. But in the first batch, as the conveying length P is shorter than the sampling interval 5P/4, upon the end of the conveyance at one batch, the switch turns OFF and the timer stops. Then, with the commencement of the second batch, the timer restarts and as the required time T is reached, a sampling machine 5 starts and the conveyed article (a) drops into a container 6. Then, the same operation is repeated to make the conveyed article (a) drop into the container 6 rotating sequentially.
