To obtain a robust sand arrestation block which can be constructed by single suspension to cope with labor saving and unattended construction at a site, and can be stored at the site, be taken out from there, and be relocated upon emergencies easily.
The sand arrestation block 1 formed to have a substantially rhombic shape in plan view includes triangular projections 2a to 2d respectively formed at corners, and legs 3a to 3d projectingly arranged on lower surfaces thereof, respectively. A square recess 4 having a substantially quadrangular shape is formed in the center of a surface of the sand arrestation block 1, and a hanging metal (not shown in the drawing) is fixed in a depth thereof. The triangular projections 2a to 2d are formed so that adjacently arranged sand arrestation blocks 1 may come into contact with each other slantwise when the triangular projections 2a to 2d abut on the triangular projections of the adjacently arranged sand arrestation blocks 1. When sand arrestation blocks 1 are placed on others, the legs 3a to 3d of the four sand arrestation blocks 1 of the upper tier are fitted together into the single square recess 4 of the sand arrestation block 1 of the lower tier. Thus, a sand arrestation dam integrated firmly can be constructed.
